ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE

On October 16th, 2011, FC Ukraine United played their twenty second and last league game in this season against ACU Jaguars in Vaughan, Ontario. Ukrainians opened the scoring at 25th minute mark. Andi Kararaj curved the ball into the top corner on a free kick, 1-0. Few minutes later, Gregoriy Kleyner doubled the scoring for Ukraine, collecting Zafar Hamzaev's perfect through pass and beating ACU keeper with a well-placed shot in the lower right corner. 2-0. By the end of the half, Mykola Voytsehovskiy scored third goal for Ukrainian side and his 12th goal of the season on the breakaway, 3-0. That was enough for Ukrainian team to secure the win in this game and collect 10th victory in the season. FC Ukraine United finished 4th in the league with 37 points and will be promoted to Central Premier Division in 2012! ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On October 14th, 2011, FC Ukraine United played their twenty first league game against Aurora Hearts in Aurora, Ontario. First half, even game. Aurora goes ahead at 25th minute mark on the breakaway. Right after, Hearts almost scored another goal on breakaway again. Huge save was made by Ukraine's keeper Nikita Zemskov. After that, Ukrainians started to press for equalizer. In the remaining minutes of the half, two good opportunities were missed by Ukraine to tie the game. Andy Kararaj had two perfect chances. First, he could not score on a breakaway and then he hit the post. Finally, the effort was paid off at 40th minute, when Mykola Voytsehovskiy scored tying goal for Ukraine. 1-1 after one. After a back-and-forth first half, Ukrainians were first who missed two early chances to go ahead in this game. Aurora answered with two great chances right away. In the last minutes of the game, Ukrainians missed amazing opportunity to win this game. FCUU's players hit two crossbars and missed an open net from three meters range. Huge saves were made by both keepers in this game. Unfortunately, that was it, 1:1 final score in this entertaining match. In the last game of the season, United needs a win against Jaguars, in order to get a 4th place in the final standings, which possibly will move FC Ukraine United up to Regional Premier Division in 2012. ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On September 29th, 2011 FC Ukraine United played their twentieth league game against FK Bosna in Mississauga, Ontario. Bosna's forward opened the scoring in the third minute of the game from 35 meters long shot. It was a first shot on goal. 1-0 Bosna. Ukrainians started to press for equalizer. In the next few minutes, two good opportunities were missed by Ukraine to tie the game. First, E.Ishchak hit the post and then M.Voytsehovskiy could not score on breakaway. Finally, the effort was paid off at 30th minute mark, when Eugene Ishchak made no mistake on the breakaway. 1-1. By the end of the half, Bosna missed really good chance to score one more goal. 1-1 after one. In the beginning of the second half, Bosnians went ahead again, by scoring their second goal on a breakaway. 2-1 Bosna. Again, Ukrainians pressed for a tying goal. Amazing chances, breakaway and crossbar were missed by Ukraine to tie this game right away. Ukrainians kept pressing. At the 70th minute mark, Eugene Ishchak scored tying goal for Ukraine and his second of the night. 2-2. On the other hand, Bosna mostly were playing on counterattacks. Few of them were close to a success. In the last minutes of the game, Ukraine's forward Voytsehovskiy missed another perfect chance to score on the breakaway. Bosna's keeper made a huge save! That was it, 2:2 final score in this entertaining match. FC Ukraine United just two points behind Aurora Hearts, who we will play in the next game. ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On September 23rd, 2011 FC Ukraine United played their nineteenth league game against FC Inter Wolves in Toronto, Ontario. Not much happened in the first half. Both teams played mostly in the middle of the field with rare chances to score. In the beginning of the second half, Inter scored a goal on one of their rare counterattacks. Ukraine answered right away. Eugene Ishchak tied the game from a free kick. Inter looked tired, Ukraine started to press for the winner. Their effort was paid off after a beautiful play of Ukraine's midfielders at 68th minute mark. Ivan Yanchev made a perfect assist to Zafar Hamzaev, who put the bullet into the top far corner! The remaining minutes of the second half were dominated by Ukrainians. United hit the crossbar and missed few other good chances. On the other hand, Inter missed a good opportunity in the last minutes to tie this game. That was it! 2-1 - final score for Ukraine! FC Ukraine United is in the 4th place in the league now, just three points less then Aurora Hearts, who they will play in one of the three remaining games in this season. ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On September 18th, 2011 FC Ukraine United played their eighteenth league game against Goldline in Toronto, Ontario. First half, even game. Both teams missed one good opportunity to open the score. Second half was dominated by Ukraine. In the 55th minute mark, FCUU's defender Pavlo Matviivopened the scoring with a powerful shot into a top corner, 1-0! Ten minutes later, Ukraine's forward Mykola Voytsehovskyy doubled the score with the header after a corner kick, 2-0! Eighteen minutes to the end, Ukraine scored third goal by Eugene Ishchak on the breakaway, 3-0! Ukraine's keeper Nikita Zemskov played his first match after a long suspension and made his 3rd shutout in the season! 3-0 final score for Ukraine! ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On September 11th, 2011 FC Ukraine United played their seventeenth league game against Veneto Lions in Toronto, Ontario. Ukrainians started this game without suspended goalkeeper Nikita Zemskov. In the fifth minute of the game FCUU's Pavlo Matviiv opened the scoring with the header after a corner kick. Veneto tied the game five minutes later on the breakaway. Eugene Ishchak scored second goal for Ukraine on the rebound ten minutes later. Ukraine scored ones more in the first half. Mykola Voytsehovskiy stole the ball from the Veneto's defender and made it 3-1 for Ukraine. In the beginning of the 2nd half, Veneto were awarded a penalty shot after a handball in the box of FCUU's defender. Ukraine's back up keeper Kristoffer Moysey made an easy save. Minutes later, Ukraine scores fourth goal by Andrey Gapanenko from a free kick. Fifteen minutes to the end Veneto scores a goal from a free kick. 4-2. Right after, Ukraine missed a perfect opportunity to score another goal on the breakaway. In the last ten minutes of the game, Ukraine tried to keep this winning score mostly by defending. That play was a huge mistake by Ukrainians. Veneto kept pressing and scored two more goals in 85th and 90+4 minutes. Huge comeback for Veneto! That was it, 4-4 tie in this eight goal entertaining match! ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On August 25th, 2011 FC Ukraine United played their sixteenth league game against second place team Richmond Hill Madrid in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Ukrainians started this game without suspended goalkeeper Nikita Zemskov. Even game in the first half. Ukraine did not score on two breakaways and hit a crossbar. On the other hand, Richmond Hill scored one goal and had another chance to score. 1-0 after one. In the 2nd half, Ukraine had pretty much all possession of the ball. FCUU pressed for a equalizer, missing good opportunities. On one of rare counter attacks by Richmond Hill, Ukrainian backup goalkeeper made another mistake, 2:0 Richmond Hill. Ukraine pressed more and scored one goal back 25 minutes to the end by Eugene Ishchak, 2:1. RHM answered by hitting the post. Another 3-4 chances including a post in the last minute, were missed by Ukraine in remaining minutes. Ukrainians were really unlucky to lose this game. 1-2 final score. ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On August 14th, 2011 FC Ukraine United played their fifteenth league game against Barrie City in Toronto, Ontario. Even game in the first half. Rain, bad field conditions. Ukraine hit the crossbar from a free kick in the beginning of the half. Barrie answered with the goal by the end of the half, after FCUU keeper's mistake. 0-1 after one. 2nd half was much entertaining. Ukraine began to press for a equalizer, while Barrie tried to keep the winning score mostly playing on the counter attacks. Eight minutes to the end, Ukraine tied the game after Andi Kararaj's cross into the box, which was reflected by Barrie's defender into own net. Two minutes later, Barrie was awarded a penalty shot after another mistake of Ukraine's keeper, who once again made a huge save for second game in the row! Still 1-1! Few minutes later, Ukraine's keeper gets a second yellow and leaves United with ten man. Injury time, Barrie pushed forward to score the winner. Another lost ball in the middle by Barrie, breakaway for Ukraine and no mistake by Mykola Voytsehovskiy, who scored winning goal for Ukraine in this entertaining second half! 2-1 final score for Ukraine! ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On August 13th, 2011 FC Ukraine United played their fourteenth league game against Goldline in Woodbridge, Ontario. First half, even game, better possession for Goldline, practically with no chances. Ukraine missed two really good opportunities. By the end of the first half Ukrainians opened the scoring by Vadym Zayarnyy. 1-0 after one. In the 2nd half, Goldline pressed for a equalizer, while Ukraine mostly played on the counter attacks. At 64th minute, Ukraine doubled the scoring. Mykola Voytsehovskiy scored second goal for Ukraine on the breakaway. After that, it was an open game. Both teams missed at least four-five 100% chances. FCUU's Nikita Zemskov made a huge save for Ukraine on the penalty shot. In the last minute of the game, Goldline finally scored one goal back. 2-1 final score for Ukraine! ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On August 7th, 2011 FC Ukraine United played their thirteenth league game against Aurora Hearts in Centennial Park, Toronto. Aurora opened the scoring at 25th minute mark. Ukraine's Andi Kararaj tied the game ten minutes later. Five minutes to the end of the first half, Hearts scored ones again after another Ukraine's mistake at the back. Two perfect chances to score were missed by Ukraine. 1:2 after one. In the 2nd half, Ukraine began to press for a equalizer. Both teams missed few opportunities. Twenty minutes to the end, Aurora made 3-1. Ukraine started to press more, missed another opportunity from a close range. The effort was paid off at 88th minute, when FCUU's Eugene Ishchak scored second and last goal in this game. 2-3 final score, first defeat for Ukraine at the home field in this season. ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On July 31st, 2011 FC Ukraine United played their number twelve league game against first place team Vaughan Azzurri in Centennial Park, Toronto. Both teams were missing some players due to suspensions and injuries, but still had 5-6 subs. 1st half, an even game, with Azzurri having more possession but not creating many scoring chances, except one shot from close range that missed the net. 2nd half started the same way, but soon Ukraine began to press a bit more and found the net on a 25-yard long shot placed perfectly in the top corner by Ukraine's striker. In about 10 minutes, same striker cashed in on a rare Azzurri defence mistake, went on a breakaway and was brought down in the box by Azzurri's keeper. PK + red card, 2-0. Both teams then missed some good chances to score. Azzurri never quit trying to get back into the game, being one man down. However, 2-0 for Ukraine was the result of this game. ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On July 24th, 2011 FC Ukraine United played their eleventh league game against ACU Jaguarsin Toronto, Ontario. FCUU were missing eight players in this game due to suspensions and injuries. One goal was scored in the first half. Jaguars opened the scoring in the 20th minute mark. Both teams missed really good chances to score. 1-0 after one. In the second half, Ukraine kept missing their chances, while ACU scored another two goals. Fifteen minutes to the end, FCUU's Denys Yanchuk scored one goal back. Seven minutes to the end, Taras Kaplun scores second goal for Ukraine. In the last minute of the game, Ukrainians tied the game with another goal from Denys Yanchuk. 3:3 - final score, huge comeback for Ukraine! ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On July 21st, 2011 FC Ukraine United played their tenth league game against Newmarket Athletics in Newmarket, Ontario. These two teams already played in this season at Ukraine's home field where Ukrainians celebrated victory. FCUU opened the scoring in in the middle of the first half by Eugene Ishchak. Right in the beginning of the second half Taras Kaplun doubled the scoring for Ukraine. In the end of the game Newmarket started to press and their effort was successful, when they scored two late goals after mistakes of Ukraine's back up goaltender. 2:2 - final score. ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On July 17th, 2011 FC Ukraine United played their ninth league game and second game in last two days against Vaughan Azzurri in Vaughan, Ontario. Last year's under-18 Ontario Cup and National's winners Vaughan Azzurri scored two unanswered goals in this game, one in each half. Azzurri opened the scoring in the end of the first half, right after Ukraine was down to ten man after two yellow cards for FCUU's K.Kolpakov. Second goal was scored in the beginning of the second half. Vaughan was stronger side in this game. 2:0 - well deserved win for Azzurri. Ukraine started this game without suspended goalkeeper Nikita Zemskov. Ukrainians opened the scoring at 60th minute by Andi Kararaj, who scored his third goal in the season. That was the only goal in the game for Ukraine. Ukrainians started this game without six players due to injuries. First half was scoreless. Each team had few chances to score. Veneto started second half much better that Ukraine. In the result, they scored two quick goals. Right after that, Ukraine's goalkeeper and Veneto striker left the field with unnecessary red cards in the middle of the second half. ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE FRANK DOCHERTY CUP, SECOND ROUND On June 23rd, 2011 FC Ukraine United played second round of Frank Docherty Cup game against Club Italia Juventus in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Ukrainians opened the scoring at 25th minute with powerful shot from 30 meters into a top corner by Ivan Yanchev. Ten minutes later, Italia tied the game. 1:1 after first half. Fifteen minutes in the second half, Ukraine took the lead again after Eugene Ishchak's goal on the breakaway. Ten minutes to the end, Italia tied the game once again. ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On June 7th, 2011 FC Ukraine United played their second game in the season away against Ninveh Stars. Ukrainians looked stronger of the two sides in the opening minutes, creating four really good chances to score. After all the pressure by FCUU, Stars took the lead in the game at 25 minute mark and held that 1-0 lead to the end of the first half. In the beginning of the second half, Ukrainians tied the game after powerful shot from a free kick by Eugene Ishchak. The game opened up a bit after the equalizer. Both teams had good chances to score. At the 83rd minute, Stars took another lead on the breakaway after terrible mistake by FCUU defense. Ukraine pressed again in the last minutes. Pavlo Matviiv’s equalizing goal from 30 meters free kick in the 88th minute salvaged a crucial road point and condemned FC Ukraine United to another frustrating draw in a 2-2 deadlock on Tuesday night at Eglinton Flats. 2011 ONTARIO SOCCER LEAGUE On June 5th, 2011 FC Ukraine United played their first game in the season at home field against Richmond Hill Madrid. The match was an up-and-down one with just bursts of goal scoring opportunities.Richmond Hill opened the scoring in the first half at 25th minute on the breakaway. Eugene Ishchak scored equalizer at 75th minute from an assist by Kirill Gromyko. Overall, it was pretty even game.
