FC Ukraine United completed its regular season on a winning note with a 5-2 victory over Real Mississauga, the only CSL First Division match played Tuesday.

The prolific Molham Babouli again played an important role in the victory, registering a hat-trick to increase his output to nine since playing his first game for Ukraine United on September 8. Midfielder Ihor Sorotoskyi scored the other two for the home side in the game played at Centennial Stadium. Arlind Ferhati and Mohamed Elsabahy struck for Real Mississauga, a team that appeared beaten most of the match except for its 1-0 early lead and a period late in the second half with Ukraine United leading 3-2 and a tying goal by the Mississauga side appeared a distinct possibility. Sorotoskyi’s two late goals, one being the last kick of the match, eventually assured Ukraine United of the win.

Referee Marcos Jaramillo showed red cards firstly to defender Andrii Sukhetskyi of Ukraine United and later in the game to Naim Sakran of Real Mississauga.

The win moves Ukraine United to third position in the table with a 10-6-2 record for 32 points.

Waterloo ended its regular season September 28 to now end up in fourth position in the standings. The four teams with home advantage in the quarterfinals and semifinals are FC Vorkuta, Scarborough SC, FC Ukraine United and SC Waterloo. (While Serbian White Eagles have an opportunity to win its final game on Wednesday to tie on points with Waterloo in the standings, Waterloo has more wins during the regular season and will take third position. The total wins is the first tie-breaker when teams end the season tied on points.)
