THE CURRENT, ESTIMATED START DATE FOR STEP 1 (ONTARIO SOCCER’S “PHASE 1”) OF THE GOVERNMENT OF ONTARIO’S NEW OPENING FRAMEWORK IS JUNE 14, 2021.
Ontario Soccer continues to work in consultation with Canada Soccer and the Government of Ontario, as we prepare for Return to Play 2021. Ontario Soccer will keep the membership updated with the most recent developments surrounding Ontario Soccer’s Return to Play Plan.
The Government of Ontario announced May 20, 2021 that it is easing the restrictions on Outdoor Activities and has released a new three step re-opening framework.
Organized team sport training, with up to 10 participants, is scheduled to begin in Step 1 of the Government of Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopening.
The current, estimated start date for Step 1 (Ontario Soccer’s “Phase 1”) of the Government of Ontario’s new Opening Framework is June 14, 2021.
As communicated in our Membership Bulletin of May 20, Ontario Soccer is eagerly awaiting sport specific information from the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries so that we can provide more guidance to membership on what the re-opening framework will mean for soccer.
Unfortunately, at the present time, or until more information is available, no organized team sports such as soccer is permitted under the Government Public Health orders. Team sports are focused on the planned June 14 reopening date.
Further membership updates will be provided as soon as known from the provincial government authorities.
